National Crafts Museum where India’s history comes alive is situated in New Delhi near Supreme Court , you will see about India’s history dating back to 3000 BC.

This museum consists of different kinds of houses found in the villages of India. One mistake I did was I thought that this area of the museum was closed and I didn’t even ask the staff about it.

Later I got to know that the area was open lol.

The museum is a piece of art itself. It has hundreds of historical textiles of the Harappan Civilization. It was one of the earliest civilizations in the world, alongside those in Mesopotamia and ancient Egypt.

You must have got bored while studying in the history class, but this museum’s history class won’t let you get bored.

Have you watched that Doremon movie where they jumped into the book and reach into the story world? I felt exactly like jumping into one haha.

Shops inside the Museum

There were several shops inside the museum organized by artisans from different cities of India like Gujarat and Rajasthan. If you are coming here you should really buy glass bangles, you won’t stop looking at your hands after you wear some.

Tshoglhams

These boots look dope, wish I had a pair.

These are the ceremonial boots from Bhutan known as Tsholhams or Tshoglhams. These boots are made of silk, later incorporating leather.

National Crafts Museum also holds the artefacts of the King’s palaces from Gujarat. I stood in front of these artefacts and couldn’t help but think why would the government bring these things here by the way. Why didn’t they let it stay attached to the palace only?haha.

Whoever is visiting this museum should NOT miss out on the textile gallery because it is next level. It took me around 2-3 hours to explore the place and still missed out on two things, one of them was visiting the area where different types of houses were built and the second one was pottery making.

Make sure you don’t forget these things and must experience the entire place.
